fun night out

Last week Tyler and I went up to Salt Lake City with our good friend Janae. Salt Lake puts on free concerts every Thursday night in the summer with seriously good bands. The one we went to  was The Dum Dum Girls and She & Him. She & Him was the main event. The lead singer is Zooey Deschanel, who you might recognize from (500) Days of Summer. She is so darling and her voice is so rich and beautiful. It was such a fun show!

Zooey is married to one of my favorite musicians, Ben Gibbord (of Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service). What a great couple!

We didn't have a camera and by the time She & Him got onstage it was too dark outside to take pictures with the iPhone, but we did get a couple of shots of The Dum Dum Girls who had seriously awesome outfits. They were great.

After the show we went to The Pie, a Salt Lake City favorite, with a couple other friends that we met up with at the show. It was actually both Tyler's and my first time ever going and it was delicious! We loved it and will definitely be going back.

It was fun to get out and do something fun, but I have to admit... I was seriously exhausted afterward! Between the heat, standing for so long, and all the crowds, I was definitely ready for bed by the end of the night. Oh the joys and getting old and being pregnant :)
