missing in action

Sorry I've been so M.I.A. lately... there has definitely been plenty of action in my life, but I have been missing out on blogging about it. I need to be better at keeping a remembrance of my life through blogging because I'm so terrible at keeping a journal.

Anyway...

Here's what's going on in the simple life of t&k:
  • SCHOOL. Tyler is taking 12 credits this semester, the most he's ever taken at a time. He was supposed to cut his work hours at CALLE down to 20 hours a week so he could take a heavier school load and finish faster, but let's be honest... he loves his job and school kinda stinks... so he's pretty much still working like crazy except for now he has 3 times more school work on top of it all. Needless to say he is extremely busy and always has more he could be doing, but we still find time to snuggle and watch movies, so it's all good. My school load this semester is weird... I'm taking 16 credits which sounds like a lot but 5 credits of it is lab work which I can do all on my own time so it feels pretty easy. As part of my lab work I am working on my honors thesis and I'm also working on writing my thesis in my advanced writing class. I'm going to be so happy when it's all over! Only 7 more months to complete freedom... Unless I get into graduate school, but that's a totally different story.
  • WORK. Tyler is working on launching a new website for CALLE. It's going to be SOOO much better than the old one and he is so excited about each part of the process. What a little creative genius I'm married to. I'm still at PF Changs and it's still the same old. I have such a love/hate relationship with it, but overall I'm glad that I can work so that Tyler and I can make ends meet and save a little here and there for our future. I do have a fun work story, though... I got the biggest tip I've ever gotten Friday night from these two hilarious guys from NYC that Tyler and I are now obsessed with. They write songs for musicals and they are SO amazing and funny. Visit their website here. They were my last table of the night on Friday and we just sat and talked forever... they had never met a Mormon before and I had never met boys who love musical theater more than me haha. They had a concert Saturday night but I couldn't get work off which was a real bummer. Tyler went, though, and loved it and said it was absolutely hilarious. And they even mentioned me on stage!! That made me feel pretty cool :)
  • MOVIES. We just love movies. We usually don't see movies in the theater because it's so expensive, but we did see Sherlock Holmes because we couldn't wait for it to come out on video. We LOVED it and would definitely recommend it. Also, we saw Avatar in IMAX 3-D and it was INCREDIBLE!!!! I didn't even really want to see it in the first place, but I kept hearing from so many people that it was the best movie they had ever seen, so we gave it a try and I loved every single second of the 3 hour-long film. It was so beautiful and the story was so inspiring and the special effects blew my mind! If you are doubting it, see it for yourself. I bet you'll love it, too!
  • PLANS. We have so many plans and dreams. I'm sure everyone does, but I think I'm always on overdrive when it comes to dreaming about the future and planning future events. We really want to take a trip this summer since we didn't get a proper honeymoon. We were thinking China? I just wish it wasn't so expensive to get out there, though. Other plans include a puppy, a baby, a house, moving to Salt Lake, buying a car that doesn't suck so bad in the snow... all of which (realistically) won't happen anytime soon, but we sure have fun looking up bulldog puppies and Subaru Imprezas for sale.
