it must be autumn...

September in Utah is hot and cold. In the morning you need a sweater and thick socks on, but by midday you will be sweating profusely if you're still wearing them. And the leaves on the mountains are changing fast. Supposedly the peak to see them was yesterday, but we still haven't driven up the canyon to look at them.

What we did, though, was pick apples... so. many. apples. The Magleby's have an old house up by the Provo temple that no one is living in right now. It has three HUGE apple trees that unfortunately haven't been taken care of quite like they should have been, but they still produced boat loads of apples this year. Since they haven't been pruned or sprayed or anything, the apples were a little small, but still SO sweet and delicious. My mom and my sisters Karyn and Amy came down to Provo with their kids to pick some apples to make applesauce. It was so fun! We filled up all the buckets and bags they brought and then had to get some CALLE bags from Tyler's car to pick up the rest. And there was still A TON left on the tree, but they were too high up to reach. First, we gently picked all the apples that we could reach with our ladders and by climbing on top of my mom's Durango. Then when all those were picked, Tyler climbed WAY UP as high as he could go and shook all the branches. It was crazy! It was literally raining apples. They were falling so fast and hard that some of them pounded themselves into the ground so that we had to dig them up! I've never seen anything like it. We had such a good time, and without the crazy climbing skills of Mr. Right, we wouldn't have gotten nearly as many as we did. Here's to Autumn!

**These photos were taken with Tyler's iPhone, which is why they're kinda fuzzy...
